Abstract

Abstrak: Eklamsia masih merupakan masalah penting akibat tingginya morbiditas dan mortalitas. Penanganan yang tertunda biasanya berawal dari deteksi dan rujukan yang terlambat akibat variasi karaktetristik yang luas dari preeklamsia dan terdapatnya berbagai teori mengenai patomekanismenya. Masalah tambahan sering menyertai terminasi kehamilan, pemakaian obat antikonvulsan dan antihipertensi, keluaran perinatal, dan follow-up pasca kelahiran. Penanganan eklamsia yang kompleks memerlukan penatalaksanaan yang komprehensif dan terintegrasi.Kata kunci: penanganan eklamsia, masalahAbstract: Eclampsia is still an important problem due to its high morbidity & mortality. Delayed management usually starts from late detection and referring due to the wide characteristic variation of preeclampsia and various pathomechanism theories. Additional problems often associated with termination of pregnancy, use of anticonvulsant and antihypertensive drugs, perinatal outcome, as well as post partum follow-up. Abstract

Abstract: This study was aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of 20% green tea extract in preventing the increase of melanin in guinea pig skin exposed to UV-B and to compare the effectiveness of this treatment to 4% hydroquinone cream. This was an experimental study with the post-test only control group design. Subjects were four groups; each consisted of 7 male guinea pigs. Group 1, the control group, was exposed to UV-B only. Group 2 was exposed to UV-B and applied with cream based substance. Group 3 was exposed to UV-B and applied with 4% hydroquinone cream. Group 4 was exposed to UV-B and applied with 20% green tea extract. The total UV-B intensity was 390 mJ/cm2 consistently exposed for two weeks. Histopathological slides of the skin tissue were stained with Masson Fontana technique. The total amount of melanin was calculated in percentage of pixel compared to pixel of melanin in total epidermis. The results showed that the highest amount of melanin was in group 1 (24.44%) and the lowest amount of melanin was in group 3 (1.04%) meanwhile the amount of melanin in group 4 (1.34%) was nearly the same with group 3. There were significant differences between group 1 to group 3 and 4 (P < 0.05). There was no significant difference between group 3 and group 4 (P > 0.05). Conclusion: The 20% green tea extract was as effective as 4% hydroquinone cream in inhibiting the increase of melanin in guinea pigs’skin exposed to UV-B.Keywords: green tea extract, melanin, ultraviolet BAbstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efek pemberian krim ekstrak teh hijau 20% terhadap peningkatan jumlah melanin pada kulit marmut yang dipajan sinar UVB serta membandingkan efektivitasnya dengan krim hidrokuinon 4%. Jenis penelitian ialah eksperimental murni dengan post test only control group design. Subyek penelitian terdiri dari empat kelompok dengan 7 ekor marmut jantan setiap kelompok. Kelompok 1 (kelompok kontrol) diberi pajanan sinar UV-B saja. Kelompok 2 diberi pajanan sinar UV-B dan diolesi krim dasar. Kelompok 3 diberi pajanan sinar UV-B dan krim hidrokuinon 4% sedangkan kelompok 4 diberi pajanan sinar UV-B dan krim ekstrak teh hijau 20%. Dosis total UVB yaitu 390 mJ/cm2 diberikan selama 2 minggu. Sediaan histopatologik jaringan kulit dipulas dengan pewarnaan Masson Fontana. Jumlah melanin dihitung dengan persentase pixel luas area melanin dibandingkan dengan pixel seluruh jaringan epidermis. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan jumlah melanin tertinggi pada kelompok 1 (24,44%) dan terendah pada kelompok 3 (1,04%). Jumlah melanin pada kelompok 4 (1,34%) hampir sama dengan kelompok 3. Terdapat perbedaan bermakna antara kelompok 1 dengan kelompok 3 dan 4 (P < 0,05). Perbandingan antara kelompok 3 dan 4 tidak berbeda bermakna dalam mencegah peningkatan jumlah melanin (P > 0,05). Simpulan: Pemberian krim ekstrak teh hijau 20% sama efektif dengan krim hidrokuinon 4% dalam mencegah peningkatan jumlah melanin kulit marmut yang dipajan sinar UV-B.Kata kunci: krim ekstrak teh hijau, melanin, ultraviolet B

Abstract

Abstract: Aging is a physiological process that occurs in all living creatures. Swissoats A3® is an anti-aging supplement that contains phytoestrogens. This study was aimed to prove that Swiss oats A3® supplementation could increase estrogen levels in menopausal female Wistar rats (Rattus norvegicus). This was an experimental study with a completely randomized pretest-posttest control group design. Subjects were 20 menopausal female rats (Rattus norvegicus), Wistar strain, healthy, aged 15-16 months, weighing 200 g, divided into 2 groups: the control group (P0), treated with distilled water for 21 days and the treatment group (P1), treated with Swissoats A3® of 34.2 mg/rat/day for 21 days. Before and after 21 days of treatment, 1 ml venous blood was drawn through the medial canthus of orbital sinus using microcapillary tube and the estrogen levels were meassured by using indirect ELISA method. The results showed that before treatment, the mean estrogen level in P0 group was 14.96±2.0468 pg/ml and in P1 group was 14.21±2.3905 pg/ml (P > 0.05). Meanwhile, after 21-day treatment, the mean estrogen level in P0 group was 15.07±1.8851 pg/ml, whereas in P1 group was 28.33±3.2052 pg/ml (P < 0.01). The analysis showed that the Swissoats A3® could elevate the estrogen levels significantly (P < 0.01) in group P1 (2.3905±14.21 vs 28.33±3.205). Conclusion: Swissoats A3® supplementation could increase the estrogen levels in menopausal female Wistar rats (Rattus norvegicus).Keywords: Swiss oats A3®, estrogen, female Wistar rats, menopauseAbstrak: Penuaan (aging) merupakan suatu proses fisiologik yang dialami oleh seluruh mahluk hidup. Swissoats A3® merupakan suplemen anti-aging yang mengandung fitoestrogen. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk membuktikan bahwa pemberian suplemen Swissoats A3® dapat meningkatkan kadar estrogen pada tikus (Rattus norvegicus) betina menopause galur Wistar. Jenis penelitian ialah eksperimental dengan randomized pretest-posttest control group design. Subjek penelitian ialah 20 ekor tikus putih betina (Rattus norvegicus) galur Wistar, sehat, menopause, umur 15-16 bulan, berat badan 200 gr. Tikus dibagi menjadi 2 kelompok yaitu kelompok kontrol (P0) yang diberikan aquadest secara sonde selama 21 hari dan kelompok perlakuan yang diberikan suplemen Swissoats A3® dosis 34,2mg/ekor/hari secara sonde selama 21 hari. Sebelum dan sesudah 21 hari perlakuan, darah vena diambil melalui medial canthus sinus orbitalis sekitar 1 ml dengan menggunakan tabung mikrokapiler dan dilakukan pemeriksaan kadar estrogen menggunakan metode indirect ELISA. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa sebelum perlakuan, rerata kadar estrogen kelompok P0 14,96±2,0468 pg/ml dan kelompok P1 14,21±2,3905 pg/ml (P > 0,05). Setelah perlakuan selama 21 hari, rerata kadar estrogen kelompok P0 15,07±1,8851 pg/ml dan kelompok P1 28,33±3,2052 pg/ml (P < 0,01). Analisis efek perlakuan menunjukkan terjadinya peningkatan kadar hormon estrogen yang sangat bermakna (P < 0,01) pada kelompok P1 (14,21±2,3905 vs 28,33±3,205). Abstract

Abstract: Carbonate hydroxy apatite (CHA) and hydroxyapatite (HA) are calcium phosphate biomaterials for bone substitute which have the characteristics of biocompatibility, bioactivity, and osteoconductivity. Platelet rich plasma (PRP) has platelet concentration of 3-5 times above normal and contains growth factor. This study was aimed to compare the effectiveness of CHA-PRP and HA-PRP in the occlusion of calvaria deffect. This was a descriptive observational study. Subjects were 18 Wistar rats (Rattus norvegicus), aged 20-22 weeks, weighing 350-400 g. PRP was processed from 3 ml of intracardiac blood. Calvaria defect of 3 mm diameter was performed as a burr hole. Subjects were divided into 2 groups. Group 1 was treated with CHA-PRP meanwhile group 2 was treated with HA-PRP. The rats were terminated at weeks 2, 3, and 4, then the calvaria bone tissue was evaluated histopathologically. The results showed that at week-2, group 1 had inflammatory cells of 80-90% and immature bone formation of 10%, while group 2 had inflammatory cells of 60-70% and immature bone formation of 5%. At week-3, group 1 had inflammatory cells of 80% and immature bone formation of 10-45% while group 2 had inflammatory cells of 60-70% and immature bone formation of 10-20%. At week-4, group 1 had inflammatory cells of 80-90% and immature bone formation of 45-90% while group 2 had inflammatory cells of 20-70% and immature bone formation of 15-55%. Conclusion: In rats (Rattus norvegicus) with calvaria defects, CHA-PRP treatment could accelerate the occlusion process better than HA-PRP.Kata kunci: carbonate hydroxy apatite, hydroxyapatite, platelet rich plasmaAbstrak: Karbonat hidroksi apatit (KHA) dan hidroksi apatit (HA) merupakan biomaterial kalsium fosfat pengganti tulang yang bersifat biokompatibilitas, bioaktivitas, osteokonduktif. Plasma kaya trombosit (PKT) mempunyai konsentrasi trombosit 3-5 kali di atas normal dan mengandung faktor pertumbuhan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk membandingkan pengaruh pemberian KHA-PKT dan HA-PKT pada proses penutupan defek kalvaria tikus. Jenis penelitian ialah deskriptif observasional. Subyek penelitian berupa 18 ekor tikus putih (Rattus norvegicus) galur Wistar, umur 20-22 minggu, berat badan 350-400 gr. Pengambilan darah tikus 3 cc intrakardiak diolah menjadi PKT. Defek kalvaria dibuat berbentuk burr hole diameter 3 mm. Subyek dibagi atas dua kelompok. Kelompok 1 diberikan KHA-PKT sedangkan kelompok 2 diberikan HA-PKT. Tikus diterminasi pada minggu ke-2, 3, dan 4 dan jaringan tulang kalvaria dievaluasi secara histopatologik. Hasil penelitian memperlihatkan di minggu ke-2, pada kelompok 1 terdapat infiltrasi sel radang 80-90% dan pembentukan tulang imatur 10% sedangkan kelompok 2 infiltrasi sel radang 60-70% dan pembentukan tulang imatur 5%. Di minggu ke-3, pada kelompok 1 terdapat infiltrasi sel radang 80% dan pembentukan tulang imatur 10-45% sedangkan kelompok 2 infiltrasi sel radang 60-70% dan pembentukan tulang imatur 10-20%. Di minggu ke-4, pada kelompok 1 terdapat infiltrasi sel radang 80-90% dan pembentukan tulang imatur 45-90% sedangkan kelompok 2 infiltrasi sel radang 20-70% dan pembentukan tulang imatur 15-55%. Simpulan: Pada tikus (Rattus norvegicus) dengan defek kalvaria, pemberian KHA-PKT dapat lebih mempercepat proses penutupan defek dibandingkan pemberian HA-PKT.Kata kunci: karbonat hidroksi apatit, hidroksi apatit, plasma kaya trombosit

Abstract

Abstract: Bisphenol A (BPA) has the structural and physiological activity of estrogen and acts as an endocrine disruptor. This study was aimed to prove that oral BPA could decrease testosterone levels in male Sprague Dawley rats. This was an experimental study with a randomized pretest-posttest control group design using 14 rats (Rattus norvegicus), male, Sprague Dawley strain, 2-3 months old, as subjects. Rats were divided into two groups with 7 rats each. The control group (P0) was treated with placebo for 14 days and the treatment group (P1) was treated with oral bisphenol A (BPA) single dose of 400mg/kg/day for 14 days (P1). At before and after 14-day treatment, blood was drawn through the canthus medial of orbital sinus to obtain the pretest and posttest data. Testosterone levels were examined by using ELISA. The results showed that before treatment (pretest), the mean testosterone level in P0 group was 8.29±4.68 nmol/L, while in P1 group was 7.39±1.45 nmol/L (P > 0.05). After treatment for 14 days, the mean testosterone level in P0 group was 7.40±1.37 nmol/L, while in P1 group was 3.36±1.26 nmol/L (P < 0.01). The statistical analysis showed that there was no difference in testosterone levels in P0 group (P > 0.05), meanwhile there was a very significant decrease of testosterone levels in P1 group (P < 0.01) after the treatment of BPA 400mg/kg/day for 14 days. Conclusion: Oral bisphenol A (BPA) could decrease testosterone levels in male rats (Rattus norvegicus) of Sprague Dawley strain.Keywords: bisphenol A (BPA), testosteroneAbstrak: Bisphenol A (BPA) memiliki aktifitas hormon estrogen sehingga jika masuk ke dalam tubuh dapat menjadi endocrine disruptor. Jenis penelitian ialah eksperimental dengan randomized pretest-postest control group design yang menggunakan 14 ekor tikus (Rattus norvegicus) jantan, galur Sprague Dawley, berumur 2-3 bulan, yang terbagi menjadi 2 (dua) kelompok masing-masing berjumlah 7 ekor tikus. Kelompok kontrol (P0) diberikan plasebo 14 hari dan kelompok perlakuan (P1) diberi BPA dosis tunggal 400mg/kgBB/hari selama 14 hari. Saat sebelum dan sesudah perlakuan selama 14 hari, darah diambil melalui chantus medial orbitalis untuk pemeriksaan pretest dan postest dan kadar testosteron diperiksa dengan metode ELISA. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa sebelum perlakuan (pretest), rerata kadar testosteron kelompok P0 8,29±4,68 nmol/L, sedangkan pada kelompok P1 7,39±1,45 nmol/L (P > 0,05). Setelah perlakuan selama 14 hari, rerata kadar testosteron kelompok P0 ialah 7,40±1,37 nmol/L dan pada kelompok P1 3,36±1,26 nmol/L (P < 0,01). Analisis efek perlakuan menunjukkan tidak terjadi penurunan kadar hormon testosteron pada kelompok P0 (P > 0,05), sedangkan penurunan bermakna terdapat pada kelompok P1 (P < 0,01). Abstract

Abstract: Helmet can reduce head trauma as well as maxillofacial trauma due to motorcycle accident. This study was aimed to prove the effect of helmet and its type in reducing craniofacial injury. Any intracranial abnormalities were evaluated with the CT Marshall scoring system and maxillofacial abnormalities were evaluated with FISS. This was an analytical comparative study with a cross sectional design. The results showed that there were 72 patients with craniofacial trauma; 59 patients with intracranial abnormalities and 24 patients with maxillofacial abnormalities. There were 43.1% patients that wore helmet; 31.9% of them wore open-face helmet. Data were analyzed by using the unpaired t-tests. Based on FISS, the effect of helmet on maxillofacial injury obtained a t-value of 0.787 (P = 0.217) which indicated that there was no difference in FISS scores between patients wearing helmet and not. Based on the CT Marshall scoring system, the effect of helmet on the intracranial injury obtained a t-value of 1.822 (P = 0.036) which indicated that there was a difference in scores between patients wearing helmet and not. This meant that wearing helmets had some influence on the occurence of head injuries. Based on FISS, the impacts of full-face helmet and open-face helmet on maxillofacial injuries obtained a t-value of 1.890 (P = 0.034) which indicated that there was a difference in FISS between the two types of helmets. Based on the CT Marshall scoring system, the impacts of full-face helmet and open-face helmet on intracranial injuries obtained a t-value of 1.714 (P = 0.049) which indicated that there was a difference in CT Marshall scores between the two types of helmets. Conclusion: Helmet and its type, full-face and open-face, had some influence on the occurence of either maxillofacial or intracranial injuries.Keywords: craniofacial injury, motorcycle, helmetAbstrak: Penggunaan helm dapat mengurangi kejadian trauma kepala dan trauma maksiofasial akibat kecelakaan sepeda motor. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk membuktikan bahwa pemakaian helm dan tipe helm berperan dalam menurunkan cedera kraniofasial. Abnormalitas intrakranial dievaluasi dengan skoring CT Marshall dan abnormalitas maksilofasial dievaluasi dengan FISS. Jenis penelitian ialah analitik komparatif dengan desain potong lintang. Hasil penelitian mendapatkan 72 pasien dengan trauma kraniofasial; 59 pasien dengan abnormalitas intrakranial dan 24 pasien dengan abnormalitas maksilofasial. Terdapat 43,1% pasien yang menggunakan helm; 31,9% menggunakan helm open-face. Data dianalisis menggyunakan uji t tidak berpasangan. Berdasarkan FISS, efek helm terhadap cedera maksilofasial mendapatkan t = 0,787 (P = 0,217) yag menunjukkan tidak terdapat perbedaan skor antara pasien yang menggunakan dan tidak menggunakan helm. Berdasarkan skoring CT Marshall, efek helm terhadap cedera intrakranial mendapatkan t = 1,822 (P = 0,036) yang menunjukkan terdapat perbedaan skor antara pasien yang menggunakan dan tidak menggunakan helm. Hal ini memperlihatkan bahwa penggunaan helm berpengaruh terhadap kejadian cedera kepala. Berdasarkan FISS, dampak jenis helm full-face dan open-face terhadap cedera maksilofasial mendapatkan t = 1,890 (P = 0,034) yang menyatakan terdapat perbedaan skor FISS antara pengggunaan kedua jenis helm. Berdasarkan skoring CT Marshall, dampak helm full-face dan open-face terhadap cedera intrakranial mendapatkan t = 1,714 (P = 0,049) yang menunjukkan terdapat perbedaan skor CT Marshall antara penggunaan kedua jenis helm. Abstract

Abstract: Benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) is a prostatic gland enlargement due to hyperplasia of its glandular tissue and stroma which can cause low urinary tract symptoms (LUTS). This prostatic gland enlargement could be evaluated by using intravesical prostatic protrution (IPP) with transabdominal ultrasound. This study was aimed to analyze the relationship among IPP, LUTS (evaluated by using International prostate symptom score/IPSS), and uroflowmetry in BPH patients at Prof. Dr. R. D. Kandou Hospital Manado. This was an observational analytical correlation study with a cross sectional design. Subjects were BPH patients at Prof. Dr. R. D. Kandou Hospital from August 2016 to December 2016. IPP with transabdominal ultrasound, IPSS, and uroflowmetry were evaluated in all subjects. Data were anlayzed by using Spearman correlation test. The results showed that there were no significant relationships between IPP and uroflowmetry (r = -0.243; P = 0.165); IPP and IPSS (r = 0.173; P = 0.246); and uroflowmetry and IPSS (r = 0.091; P = 0.360). Conclusion: There were no significant relationships among IPP with transabdominal ultrasound, IPSS. and uroflowmetry.Keywords: IPP, LUTS, uroflowmetryAbstrak: Benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) adalah pembesaran kelenjar prostat yang disebabkan oleh hiperplasia jaringan kelenjar dan komponen stroma yang dapat menyebabkan low urinary tract symptoms (LUTS). Pembesaran kelenjar prostat dapat dievaluasi dengan intravesical prostatic protrution (IPP) menggunakan transabdominal ultrasonografi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis hubungan antara IPP, LUTS (yang dinilai dengan International prostate symptom score; IPSS) dan uroflowmetry pada pasien BPH di RSUP Prof. Dr. R. D. Kandou Manado. Jenis penelitian ialah korelasi analitik observasional dengan studi potong lintang. Subyek penelitian ialah pasien BPH di RSUP Prof. Dr. R. D. Kandou Manado sejak bulan Agustus 2016 hingga Desember 2016. Pada semua subyek penelitian dilakukan evaluasi IPP menggunakan transabdominal ultrasonografi, IPSS, dan uroflowmetry. Data dianalisis dengan uji korelasi Spearman. Hasil analisis hubungan antara IPP dan uroflowmetry menunjukkan tidak terdapat hubungan bermakna antara keduanya (r = -0,243; P = 0,165). Hasil analisis hubungan antara IPP dan IPSS menunjukkan tidak terdapat hubungan bermakna antara keduanya (r = 0,173; P = 0,246). Hasil analisis terhadap hubungan antara uroflowmetry dan IPSS menunjukkan tidak terdapat hubungan bermakna antara keduanya (r = 0,091; P = 0,360). Simpulan: Tidak terdapat hubungan bermakna antara hasil evaluasi IPP secara transabdominal ultrasonografi, IPSS, dan uroflowmetry.Kata kunci: IPP, LUTS, uroflowmetry

Abstract

Abstract: Ultraviolet B (UVB) is a source of free radicals that accelerate aging process, especially in the skin by increasing the expression of MMP-1. Tempoyak is rich in nutraceuticals and probiotics that may provide a protective effect against skin exposure to ultraviolet rays. This study was aimed to prove that oral tempoyak could inhibit the increase of matrix metalloproteinase-1 (MMP-1) in UVB-induced rats (Rattus norvegicus). This was a true experimental study with the posttest only control group design. Subjects were 36 female Wistar rats (Rattus norvegicus), aged 2.5-3 months, weighing180-200 g, divided into 2 groups. The control group (P0) exposed to UVB was given oral aquadest as placebo, while the treatment group (P1) exposed to UVB was given 1 g/200 g body weight of oral tempoyak. After 15 days of treatment, all rats were anesthetized and their skin tissues were taken for examination of MMP-1 expression. The analysis showed that the average of MMP-1 expression in the control group (P0) was 25.26±11.19% meanwhile the average of MMP-1 expression in the treatment group (P1) was 8.67±2.51%. There was a significant difference between the MMP-1 expression of the two groups (P = 0.000). Conclusion: Oral tempoyak could inhibit the increase of matrix metalloproteinase-1 (MMP-1) in UVB-induced rats (Rattus norvegicus).Keywords: tempoyak, MMP-1, UVBAbstrak: Ultraviolet B (UVB) merupakan salah satu sumber radikal bebas yang dapat mempercepat proses penuaan, khususnya penuaan kulit melalui peningkatan ekspresi MMP-1. Tempoyak yang kaya akan kandungan nutraseutikal dan probiotik dapat memberikan efek perlindungan kulit terhadap pajanan sinar ultraviolet. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk membuktikan bahwa pemberian tempoyak per oral dapat menghambat peningkatan ekspresi MMP-1 tikus yang dipajan sinar ultraviolet-B (UVB). Jenis penelitian ialah eksperimental murni dengan menggunakan post test only control group design. Subjek penelitian ialah 36 ekor tikus putih (Rattus norvegicus), betina, galur Wistar, berumur 2,5-3 bulan, dengan berat badan 180-200 gr yang dibagi menjadi 2 (dua) kelompok masing-masing berjumlah 18 ekor tikus. Kelompok kontrol (P0) diberikan pajanan UVB dan akuades per oral sebagai plasebo sedangkan kelompok perlakuan (P1) diberikan pajanan UVB dan tempoyak dengan dosis 1 gr/ 200 gr BB. Setelah 15 hari perlakuan, seluruh tikus dianestesi kemudian diambil jaringan kulitnya untuk pemeriksaan ekspresi MMP-1 dermis. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa rerata ekspresi MMP-1 pada kelompok kontrol (P0) ialah 25,26±11,19% sedangkan rerata ekspresi MMP-1 pada kelompok perlakuan (P1) ialah 8,67±2,51%. Terdapat perbedaan bermakna antara rerata ekspresi MMP-1 antara kedua kelompok (P = 0,000). Simpulan: Pemberian tempoyak per oral dapat menghambat peningkatan ekspresi MMP-1 tikus (Rattus norvegicus) yang dipajan sinar ultraviolet-B (UVB).Kata kunci: tempoyak, MMP-1, UVB

Abstract

Abstract: Surgical site infection (SSI) is the main surgery complication which can increase morbidity, mortality, as well as the hospital cost. The prevalence of SSIs at a health care reflects its sevice quality. This study was aimed to obtain the bacterial profile of SSIs among multitraumatic patients at Prof. Dr. R. D. Kandou Hospital from June through December 2016. This was a descriptive study with a cross sectional design. Pus was obtained from SSIs of laparotomy and ORIF operation wounds, and was further examined with PCR. The results showed that of 16 samples, 3 samples were negative (18.75%) and 13 samples were positive (81.25 %). The PCR test showed that the highest percentage of bacteria was Pseudomonas aeruginosa (6 samples; 46.1%), followed by Escherichia coli (2 samples; 15.4%), and Enterobacter hormaechei, Alcaligenes faecalis, Enterobacter cloacae, Bacteroides fragilis as well as Proteus mirabilis (each of 1 sample; 7.7%). Conclusion: Based on the PCR test, there were 7 types of bacteria at the SSIs of multitraumatic patients at Prof. Dr. R. D. Kandou Hospital Manado, all of them were Gram negative, and the most common type was Pseudomonas aeruginosa.Keywords: bacterial profile, PCR, SSIs, multitraumatic patientsAbstrak: Infeksi luka operasi merupakan salah satu komplikasi utama operasi yang dapat meningkatkan morbiditas, mortalitas, dan biaya perawatan penderita di rumah sakit. Angka kejadian infeksi luka operasi pada suatu institusi penyedia pelayanan kesehatan mencerminkan kualitas pelayanan pada institusi tersebut. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendapatkan pola kuman infeksi luka operasi pada pasien multitrauma di ruang perawatan bedah RSUP Prof. Dr. R. D. Kandou selama bulan Juni-Desember 2016. Jenis penelitian ialah deskriptif dengan desain potong lintang. Apusan pus diambil dari luka operasi terinfeksi pada tindakan laparotomi dan ORIF kemudian diperiksa dengan PCR. Hasil penelitian memperlihatkan dari 16 sampel yang diteliti ditemukan 3 sampel negatif (18,75%) dan 13 sampel positif (81,25 %). Berdasarkan hasil PCR ditemukan pertumbuhan kuman terbanyak ialah Pseudomonas aeruginosa sejumlah 6 sampel (46,1%), diikuti Escherichia coli sejumlah 2 sampel (15,4%), serta Enterobacter hormaechei, Alkaligenes faecalis, Enterobacter cloacae, Bacteroides fragilis, dan Proteus mirabilis, masing-masing sejumlah 1 sampel (7,7%). Simpulan: Berdasarkan hasil PCR didapatkan 7 jenis kuman pada infeksi luka operasi dari pasien multitrauma di RSUP Prof. Dr. R. D. Abstract

Abstract: Despite the estrogen and progesterone content found in commercialy prepared fried chicken, these types of restaurants are proliferating worldwide. This study was aimed to prove that oral broiler meat extract increased body weight, visceral fat mass, and hair follicles in young male Wistar rat (Rattus norvegicus). This was a completely randomized experimental study with the post-test only control group design. Subject were 36 healthy male rats (Rattus norvegicus), Wistar strain, aged 1.5 months (equivalent to human of 13 years old), weighing 80-150 g, divided into two groups of 18 rats each. The control group (P0) was treated with distilled water as placebo for 21 days and the treatment group (P1) was treated with oral broiler meat extract of 3.6 g/rat/day for 21 days. After 21-day treatment, rats were weighed and were terminated for observation of their visceral fat mass meanwhile their skin tissues were examined histologically for the numbers of hair follicles. The results showed that the mean body weight after 21-day treatment in the P0 group was 173.94±4.976 g, whereas in the P1 group was 195.94±4.869 g (P < 0.01). The mean visceral fat mass after 21 days of treatment in the P0 group was 0.356±0.0784 g whereas in the P1 group was 0.567±0.1138 g (P < 0.01). The mean number of hair follicles after 21-day treatment in the P0 group was 23.78±1.629 follicles at four fields of view meanwhile in the P1 group was 31.56±2.332 follicles at four fields of view (P < 0.01). Conclusion: Oral broiler meat extract could increase body weight, visceral fat mass, and hair follicles in young male rat (Rattus norvegicus) of Wistar strain.Keywords: broiler meat, body weight, visceral fatAbstrak: Umumnya daging ayam broiler mengandung estrogen dan progesteron namun restoran cepat saji yang menyajikan menu ayam goreng olahan telah menularluas di seluruh dunia. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk membuktikan bahwa pemberian ekstrak daging ayam broiler dapat meningkatkan berat badan, berat lemak viseral, dan pertumbuhan rambut anak tikus (rattus norvegicus) jantan galur Wistar. Jenis penelitian ialah eksperimental completely randomized dengan posttest only control group design. Subyek penelitian ialah 36 ekor tikus putih (Rattus norvegicus) jantan, galur Wistar, sehat, umur 1,5 bulan (sesuai dengan anak usia 13 tahun), dengan berat badan 80-150 gr yang dibagi menjadi 2 (dua) kelompok masing-masing berjumlah 18 ekor tikus. Kelompok kontrol (P0) diberikan plasebo berupa aquades selama 21 hari, dan kelompok perlakuan (P1) diberikan ekstrak daging ayam broiler dosis 3,6 gr/ekor/hari selama 21 hari. Setelah 21 hari perlakuan seluruh tikus diukur berat badannya, dan tikus diterminasi untuk pemeriksaan berat lemak viseral dan organ kulit diproses untuk pemeriksaan folikel rambut. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan rerata berat badan sesudah 21 hari perlakuan kelompok P0 ialah 173,94±4,976 gr, sedangkan pada kelompok P1 195,94±4,869 gr (P < 0,01). Rerata berat lemak viseral sesudah 21 hari perlakuan kelompok P0 ialah 0,356±0,0784 gr, sedangkan pada kelompok P1 0,567±0,1138 gr (P < 0,01). Rerata jumlah folikel rambut setelah 21 hari perlakuan pada kelompok P0 ialah 23,78±1,629 folikel pada 4 lapang pandang, sedangkan pada kelompok P1 31,56±2,332 folikel pada 4 lapang pandang (P < 0,01). Simpulan: Ekstrak daging ayam broiler dapat meningkatkan berat badan, berat lemak viseral, dan pertumbuhan rambut anak tikus (Rattus norvegicus) jantan galur Wistar.Kata kunci: daging ayam broiler, berat badan, lemak viseral
